Emergency Food Shelf Network
The Minnesota Laborers Union, Laborers Locals 132, 563 and outstate Locals have previously partnered with their local community Food Banks, or the Emergency Foodshelf Network (EFN), in donating non-perishable food items to needy families in Minnesota. The EFN network, in turn, supplies various food shelf locations. For more information about a food shelf near you, contact the Emergency Foodshelf Network at 763-450-3860.
Building Playgrounds
The Minnesota Laborers Union, Laborers Local 563 joined forces in 2010 with the Minnesota Vikings and other Minnesota businesses to construct a playground for the Nellie Stone Johnson Community School in Minneapolis. The Laborers will continue to look for ways to help out organizations like this, by supplying skilled Labor, on efforts like this that better our communities.
Disaster Response
The Minnesota Laborers Union and Minnesota LECET are currently reviewing ideas on how to offer coordinate assistance to help in areas of natural disaster.
Other Efforts
The Minnesota Laborers and all affiliated locals contribute in many ways to their local communities.
The contributions come in ways that are too numerous to mention. Whether it is in supporting local school functions, community based or charitable organizations, the Laborers are often there to help out. If you have a special community project in mind, contact Minnesota LECET at 651-429-1600 to share some possibilities.
